A Sterile Processing Tech who excels in this role:

Central Sterile Processing Tech Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes
all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital. Reports to:
Director of Surgery Services. Essential Functions

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Sterile Processing Tech Certification Strongly Preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements.
• Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
• Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
• Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
• Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
• Before an operation, helps set up the operating room and organizes sterile table with surgical instruments and equipment, sterile linens, and sterile solutions.
