About The Position

The University Co-op offers an internship program for degree-seeking students that provides valuable industry and functional insight into an assigned program area aligned with individual career goals, along with opportunities for mentorship and learning from senior leaders. The Store Operations Intern is a non-exempt, part-time role within this program that supports the store leadership team by providing administrative, planning, documentation, and reporting support to help ensure effective operational execution week over week in support of sales results. The intern partners with store leadership to support communication, organization, and a positive team and customer experience within a not-for-profit retail environment.

Requirements

  • Student must be enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin as a full-time student with a GPA of 2.50.
  • Student must be pursuing a degree in an area that aligns with one of the following departments: Buying, Course Materials, Distribution, e-Commerce, Finance, Management Information Systems, Marketing, Operations, or People Experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours with variable schedules from week-to-week that may include early mornings, days, nights, weekends, gamedays, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Support weekly operational planning through preparation, organization, and follow-up on priorities and action items.
  • Assist with calendar management related to store operations, events, deadlines, and recurring planning activities.
  • Help maintain planning tools and materials to support consistent execution week over week.
  • Assist with organizing and reviewing operational reports related to sales, labor, traffic, customer experience, and engagement.
  • Support leadership by summarizing observations, trends, or opportunities identified in reporting.
  • Assist with documenting potential actions that support operational efficiency, sales performance, or employee engagement.
  • Assist with documenting operational processes, procedures, and workflows.
  • Support updates to reference materials and documentation used by the store team.
  • Help maintain organized, accurate, and accessible shared resources.
  • Support internal store communication by assisting with drafting updates, summaries, and reference materials.
  • Assist with organizing communication related to operational priorities and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Help ensure communication is clear, timely, and accessible to the store team.
  • Support customer experience initiatives by observing in-store operations and documenting service-related insights.
  • Assist with gathering and summarizing customer or team feedback as requested.
  • Support organization and preparation of customer-facing materials as needed.
