About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Strategic Placement Advisor to join our Middle Market Broking Team. This individual will be responsible for negotiating and securing competitive insurance programs on behalf of our clients. The ideal candidate will have strong market relationships, a deep understanding of commercial insurance products, and the ability to analyze and communicate complex coverage options clearly and confidently.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in commercial lines insurance, preferably within a brokerage environment
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, policy forms, and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to negotiate with carriers and influence underwriting decisions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and compare complex insurance quotes.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple placements and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and insurance placement platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing relationships with key Middle Market underwriters and carriers.
  • Experience with placing packaged programs.
  • Experience building umbrella towers up to 100M
  • Familiarity with surplus lines and E&S markets.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and place commercial insurance programs with external carriers, for property & casualty lines of coverage.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with underwriters and carrier partners to leverage competitive terms and pricing.
  • Analyze and compare multiple insurance quotes, identifying key differences in coverage, exclusions, and pricing.
  • Advise clients on the merits of each quote, helping them make informed decisions aligned with their risk profile and business goals.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market conditions, and carrier appetites to proactively identify placement opportunities and challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Account Executives and Producers, to ensure seamless execution of placement strategies.
  • Prepare and present quote summaries, coverage comparisons, and placement recommendations in a clear and professional manner.
  • Support new business efforts by contributing to marketing strategies and participating in carrier meetings and presentations.
