About The Position

Structural Analysis Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level)(Structural Analysis) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Propulsion Engineering Organization is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join our team in Long Beach, California. As a Structural-Stress Analysis Engineer in the Propulsion Engineering Organization, you will be working on BCA Propulsion products, including sustaining and out-of-production airplanes, post-production fleet support, and aftermarket repair and modifications. You will be part of a team that consists of highly knowledgeable and experienced engineers making an immediate impact on Boeing’s success and the aviation industry. Propulsion Engineering, located in sunny Southern California, is seeking an experienced Structural-Stress Analysis Engineer to join our team. Some travel may be required to work with enterprise teams and suppliers, support testing, as well as to gain learning experiences to enhance your career.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience with structural analysis methods and other analysis tools
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience with Propulsion structural/stress analysis highly preferred
  • Experience with Nastran/Patran/Hypermesh is a plus
  • Master of Science in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace engineering is a plus
  • Researches and prepares data to support definition of structural design requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed structural analysis (static strength and fatigue) to determine structural integrity, using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis supports new designs, trade studies, responses to customer inquiries, production issues, failure investigations, and to show compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Guides structural design and configuration development.
  • Performs trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements.
  • Develops, deploys and supports in-house and commercial application software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks.
  • Researches and prepares data to support definition of structural design requirements.
