About The Position

Osborn Engineering is looking for a Structural Project Engineer with 4–7 years of experience to join our growing Pittsburgh office. This position will report to the Associate Director of Structural Engineering and will play a key role in supporting a wide range of structural projects for both private- and public-sector clients. The ideal candidate will bring strong consulting experience, enjoy working collaboratively, and be excited about the opportunity to help shape and grow our structural team. Osborn is a fully integrated multi-disciplined design firm that uses a specialized team approach to engineering projects. Requirements

  • 4 – 7 Years of experience in Structural Design in Consulting Engineering.
  • Proactive and collaborative team member.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as REVIT, RISA, ADAPT, EnerCalc, Tekla Structural Designer.
  • Strong knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
  • Strong knowledge of standard construction practices and the ability to work with contractors to address construction issues.
  • Experience in designing Healthcare, Sports, Commercial, Public Sector, Industrial, Education, and/or Institutional projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s in Structural, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design of new building structures as well as structural alterations, renovations, and additions to existing buildings.
  • Manage and Coordinate projects with clients and other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with Senior engineers to assemble structural work products.
  • Prepare structural integrity and assessment reports.
  • Design and detailing of structure including calculations and computer modeling, for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures
  • Prepare design deliverables for SD, DD, CD level documents.
  • Coordinate with Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and attend coordination meetings.
  • Meet project schedule and budget requirements
  • Perform site reviews and construction administration services during the construction phase.
  • Participate in continuing education seminars and ongoing continuous improvement efforts.
