About The Position

ASRC Federal System Solutions supports the FAA NAS SLES (Second Level Engineering Services) contract. Join our growing team as a Student Trainee/Intern to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Radio Communications System VHF/FM radio network. Responsibilities: Basic Knowledge of computer systems architecture and integration, development, review, configuration management, requirements, and changes are required. Provide engineering review of hardware communication equipment design data Develop and maintain technical documentation. This documentation shall describe hardware functions, maintenance requirements, and maintenance techniquesInteract with federal customers and make a difference in the success of various projects and deliverables Basic knowledge and understanding of distributed multi-process application concepts, Agile software development concepts and practices, Test-Driven Development and user interface design and implementation Basic knowledge of computer operating systems, software and hardware with proven ability to debug complex systems and to conduct reviews, audits and testing

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required. All applicants must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years.
  • On-site presence will be as required by the FAA.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline or Computer Science from an ABET accredited university with a minimum of 24 credit hours in science, math and engineering (freshman, sophomores and juniors are encouraged to apply)

Nice To Haves

  • Linux experience
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX-like Operating Systems (i.e., Linux, Solaris, IRIX) and operating system administration (i.e., Red Hat Enterprise / CentOS Linux)
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Good written and spoken communication including developing technical documentation
  • Ability to telework or work on-site in OK City at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center full-time in the summer and part-time (5 or more hours) during the school year
  • Ability to pass an FAA background investigation

Responsibilities
