Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in event planning, community building, or alumni engagement
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professionalism and discretion when handling information
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and virtual platforms such as Zoom
  • Ability to work some evening hours
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions for events. Possible extreme heat and high noise levels.
  • Ability to work up to 15 hours per week in a hybrid environment.
  • Current Purdue University student

  • Students with involvement in student organizations, campus leadership, events, or volunteer activities are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Affinity Networks email inbox and direct questions to the appropriate team member.
  • Assist with tracking event registrations and preparing attendee lists for programs and events.
  • Prepare event materials such as name badges, signage, and printed materials.
  • Assist with organizing and shipping swag boxes or materials for alumni programs and events.
  • Provide support for virtual events and webinars (setting up Zoom, monitoring attendance, and assisting with basic technical needs).
  • Support guest speaker logistics, including scheduling assistance and preparing simple background materials.
  • Assist with on-campus events by helping with check-in, event setup, and logistics.
  • Provide general program and administrative support for Affinity Network initiatives.
