Garfield County Libraries is seeking motivated and community-focused individuals to join our team as a Substitute Library Assistant at our Parachute Branch. This onsite position is ideal for candidates with flexible schedules who enjoy working with the public and are passionate about supporting lifelong learning and access to information. As a substitute, you will play an important role in maintaining consistent, high-quality service for our patrons while helping to create a welcoming and inclusive library environment. The Substitute Library Assistant provides front-line customer service and supports daily library operations. In this role, you will assist patrons with locating materials, using library technology, and accessing digital and print resources. You will also help organize and shelve materials, maintain orderly and accessible collections, and ensure that the library remains clean, safe, and inviting. Your ability to communicate clearly, work collaboratively with staff, and adapt to changing needs will be essential to your success. This position requires flexibility and dependability. Substitute employees are expected to work a minimum of two shifts per month and must be available for weekend and evening shifts between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Hours vary based on staffing needs, and a minimum number of hours is not guaranteed. The ability to accept shifts on short notice is an important part of this role.
