The Global Citizenship intern will work closely with the Global Citizenship team on day-to-day activities as well as larger projects, including communication efforts, employee engagement, and our annual Citizenship report. To be considered, you must be an undergraduate senior expected to graduate in Spring or Summer 2026, or a recent graduate. Location: Chicago Application deadline: Friday, April 17, 2026 Internship Program dates: Monday, June 8 - Friday, August 14, 2026 Description of Internship: To assist the Global Citizenship team in communications with our employees around the world. Collect data and assist in the publication and socialization of our FY26 program, C-Scores and Citizenship Report. Goals of Internship: To provide a hands-on, professional learning experience that both supports the Global Citizenship team’s efforts and initiatives while providing insights into the field of public relations and corporate social responsibility and sustainability, as well as opportunities for professional growth based on the unique talents, skills, and interests of the intern.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate strong writing skills
  • Be able to work effectively with a variety of staff
  • Be an effective communicator to multiple audiences across a global network
  • Have good organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines
  • Have solid knowledge of MS Office Suite and superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with others
  • Be interested in the field of corporate citizenship
  • To be considered, you must be an undergraduate senior expected to graduate in Spring or Summer 2026, or a recent graduate
  • Only students who are authorized to work in the United States will be considered

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and execution of internal communications to engage Edelman’s 6,000+ employees in Citizenship
  • Manage global network of 150+ local Citizenship representatives on implementing Citizenship strategy locally
  • Field and address questions and concerns from members
  • Collect “feel-good” stories/moments and highlight strong work and examples of Citizenship in action
  • Assist in development of tools and resources to support the Local Citizenship Network in implementation of social, community, and world initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the team’s internal communications
  • Prepare annual Citizenship Score reports for each office, in partnership with team members
  • Assist with implementation of new C-Score data collection system
  • Liaise with local citizenship contacts in our offices to collect and confirm data points
  • Analyze data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement
  • Contribute to graphic design of Citizenship assets including the annual report, internal communications and slide decks, and Citizenship branding
  • Support team in production of annual Citizenship Report
  • Gather assets, information, and resources
  • Coordinate with global offices, graphic designers, writer, and cross-functional teams
  • Manage partnerships by collaborating with the team to maintain contact lists, provide meeting notes and editorial support when needed
  • Assist on other citizenship projects as needed
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
  • Research and compile materials needed for meetings, calls, projects, etc.
  • Coordinate and oversee document production and projects, as requested
  • Maintain files, contacts database, and record keeping needs of practice
  • Attend team meetings and take responsibility for follow-up action
  • Complete special projects as assigned, including creative design of materials, writing projects
