About The Position

Work as part of the Hyperscale HDD Development Team to identify causes of both HAMR and ePMR HDD failures Analyze failures from Manufacturing, Engineering Validation and Reliability Testing Work with experienced Failure Analysis Engineers as well as other HDD Development Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customer teams to determine analysis plans and next steps Use bench Electrical Failure Analysis measurement/characterization and Manufacturing Data to determine fail cause Document FA data and summarize findings Utilize programming skills for data analysis and reporting This position is part of our Early Career program at WD. Our Early Career program is designed to support individuals beginning their professional career by providing the foundational training through a structured onboarding, mentorship, and development curriculum.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing BS/MS degree in (CE, CS or EE) or equivalent experience
  • Familiar or some experience with: Electronics Test Equipment Data Extraction, Data Analysis and Statistics MatLab, TCL, Python, R, C, or C++
  • Strong organization & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask, take direction, and work within a team
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
