Ingram Micro is seeking a Global DevOps Intern to join us in June for our 10-week PAID Summer Internship Program! We are looking for college and university students who are ready to expand their skills and apply them to meaningful work with a global organization. Location: This position is based in our Irvine, CA office with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule that includes required in-office days . Program details: We have internships available across our various departments and locations throughout the U.S. Unless otherwise noted , all internships are on a hybrid format at the designated office listed in the job description, and are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Our program includes cohort activities such as learning & development trainings , executive speaker sessions, and other networking opportunities . Important dates: March : Applications Open (some postings may close early due to applicant volume) March – April : Recruiters and hiring managers will review applications and reach out to candidates on a rolling basis. Timing of outreach for each internship position may vary , and some may start interviews sooner than others, but candidates may expect to hear by end of April if they are selected for an interview. June 1 st – August 7 th : First cohort start & end date June 1 5 th – August 2 1 st : Second cohort start & end date

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college/university program, or recently graduated (within the last semester or quarter) from an accredited college/university program. Juniors or seniors are preferred.
  • Cloud & Automation Fundamentals: Basic foundational knowledge of Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and the ability to write basic modular code using Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) tools like Terraform or Ansible to manage virtualized resources.
  • CI/CD & Container Orchestration: Proficiency in the software delivery lifecycle, including experience with Git version control, building Docker images, and a conceptual understanding of Kubernetes for managing scalable, containerized microservices.
  • AI Frameworks & LLM Orchestration: Hands-on experience or academic exposure to Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangGraph , CrewAI , or AutoGen ), including an understanding of prompt engineering, function calling, and how to build autonomous agents that interact with external APIs.
  • Observability & Systems Thinking: Ability to interpret system telemetry using tools lik e Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana to identify performance trends, coupled with the analytical skills to troubleshoot complex, distributed environment issues.
  • Scripting & Prototyping: Strong programming skills in Python (the primary language for AI R&D) or Bash/Shell, with the ability to quickly prototype "self-healing" scripts or R&D agents that automate repetitive manual tasks.
  • Agile Collaboration & Technical Writing: Excellent communication skills to work within a Scrum/Agile framework and the ability to translate complex technical workflows into clear, high-quality documentation for the global developer community.

Responsibilities

  • Automate CI/CD Workflows: Assist in building and maintaining continuous integration and delivery pipelines to streamline software deployments, focusing on reducing manual intervention and improving "build-to-deploy" speed.
  • Support Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ): Work alongside senior engineers to develop and update Terraform or Ansible scripts, helping to provision and manage cloud resources across AWS, Azure, or GCP in a repeatable manner.
  • Enhance System Observability: Configure monitoring dashboards and alerting systems using tools like Datadog to track application health and proactively identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Participate in the management of containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes , ensuring services are scalable, portable, and resource efficient.
  • Troubleshooting & Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug environment-level issues and maintain high-quality technical documentation for internal developer platforms and best practices.
  • Agentic AI & Orchestration R&D: Research and prototype autonomous AI agents capable of multi-step reasoning to handle complex DevOps manual tasks—such as automated incident remediation, self-correcting CI/CD pipelines, and agentic code reviews—using frameworks like LangGraph , CrewAI , Microsoft AutoGen or Semantic Kernel to move from "human-in-the-loop" to "human-on-the-loop" oversight.
