About The Position

Elford is growing its Healthcare portfolio in Cleveland and is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on-site operations for projects in active healthcare environments. This role is for a field leader who understands what it takes to build in hospitals and medical facilities — where planning, safety, infection control, communication, and quality execution matter every single day. Requirements

  • 10+ years of construction industry experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a Superintendent or Foreman leadership role
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and quality standards
  • Proven ability to influence subcontractors and maintain accountability
  • Strong communication skills — both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort using construction management software and basic computer systems
  • Willingness to travel as project needs require
  • Trade school, apprenticeship, or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare construction experience preferred (active facilities, phased work, regulatory compliance)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all field operations on healthcare construction projects
  • Maintain strong, professional relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, inspectors, and corporate leadership
  • Enforce Elford safety standards and regulatory requirements — safety is non-negotiable
  • Build strictly according to plans and specifications; review documents before work begins
  • Maintain daily on-site presence to supervise work and drive production
  • Execute work to meet or exceed the established project schedule
  • Ensure required inspections, testing, and regulatory approvals occur in proper sequence
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and information flow with the Project Manager and corporate office
  • Monitor quality control standards and oversee correction of deficient work
  • Review subcontractor scopes to ensure complete coverage prior to award and final payment
  • Lead weekly job meetings (or in the PM’s absence) and support project documentation
  • Assist with jobsite setup, scheduling, inspections, and permit coordination
  • Supervise on-site Elford staff, including field engineers or clerical support
  • Participate in Field Operations meetings and ongoing company training
