About The Position

Under general supervision, this full-time, non-exempt position is responsible for the day-to-day delivery and facilitation of Kidspace Educational Programs. The role supervises staff, coordinates logistics, and collaborates closely with the Education Programs Manager to implement high-quality programs that engage children through informal learning and amplify the work of teachers, scout leaders, and parents. Typical hours are Tuesday–Saturday, 8:45 a.m.–5:30 p.m., with some evenings and additional weekend hours required. During the spring and summer seasons, hours shift to 7:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m. This position serves Kidspace in both onsite and offsite capacities.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a role at a museum, informal education, early childhood, or commensurate setting that involves experience with working with children.
  • Demonstrates foundational knowledge in curriculum development and informal lesson planning to create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
  • Knowledge of informal learning and program practices required; knowledge or experience in play-based learning, camps, program facilitation and management, and/or child development a plus.
  • Is playful, patient, reflective and able to be safe, friendly, flexible, and professional in front of guests and staff. Works well under pressure and maintains composure when dealing with situations that require sensitivity.
  • Competency using digital devices and applications, or the ability to gain proficiency to use email and ticketing programs.
  • Proficiency in oral and written English language communication. Additional languages are a plus.
  • Ability to work while standing and walking (with reasonable accommodation) in an outdoor atmosphere that includes inclement or sunny weather. Kidspace is largely an outdoor facility, exposure to outdoor elements is required.
  • Requires bending, squatting, crouching, stooping, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting, and reaching.
  • Requires lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs. and pushing and/or pulling of up to 40 lbs.
