About The Position

The Golf Retail Supervisor must be passionate about delivering best-in-class guest service, must be a strong people-leader, must be analytical, and must deliver exceptional shopping experiences. As the primary in-store supervisor, they will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless day-to-day operations of all retail elements in the golf shop. This role involves managing retail associates, managing inventory flow, maintaining visual displays, buying select merchandise, and contributing to the golf shop’s overall success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of retail experience required with previous experience in buying and inventory management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent mathematical skills required and advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to speak effectively with guests and associates of the organization.
  • Guest service-oriented personality.
  • The ability to walk and stand for most of each shift and regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of retail sales associates to deliver exceptional guest service.
  • Create staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage and guest support. Stay within budgeted salary and wage and fringe benefit line.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to retail associates and golf ops associates.
  • Provide constant product, inventory, and merchandising training for the golf ops team.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment. Use H&RE engagement programs as a resource.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovative ideas and initiatives for the team.
  • Interact regularly with guests to ensure a memorable shopping experience; exceed guest expectations.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and ensure timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with golf ops on all point-of-sale transactions to maintain accurate guest transactions and accounting records.
  • Lead merchandise restocking efforts daily.
  • During non-peak seasonal times, the Golf Retail Supervisor will be solely responsible for restocking and shop appearance.
  • Ensure that size runs are complete, and merchandise is in the proper location, folded or hung neatly.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager to manage inventory control measures that are consistent across all retail businesses.
  • Lead all golf retail merchandising, product layout, and merchandise cadence on the sales floor to ensure optimal product placement.
  • Works directly with Visual Merchandiser on the presentation, cleanliness, organization, and overall vibe of the shop.
  • Ensure that the golf shop reflects the Kohler Company’s brand image.
  • Lead and manage inventory issues such as logo problems, late shipments, return-to-vendors, end of year returns, and assist Accounts Payable as needed.
  • Maintain records in Teams of current vendor lists (and contacts), payment terms, program discounts, supplier correspondence, and supplier performance data.
  • Work with the Senior Manager on inventory control procedures to prevent stock issues.
  • Responsible for physical inventory counts.
  • Responsible for end of year vendor returns, including the reconciliation of credit memo or accounting materials in both Dataworks and with central receiving AP.
  • The Senior Manager will assign the buying.
  • Align with the Senior Manager on merchandise or category assortment that is being purchased prior to executing the purchase order.
  • Stay within Open-To-Buy or aligned budget. Senior Manager approval needed for deviations.
  • Analyze daily sales and vendor sell-through to understand and react to trends.
  • Make recommendations for additional orders (or cancelation of orders) based on the trend to Senior Manager.
  • Ensure the business is not over-inventoried or under-inventoried.
  • Responsible for entering all purchase orders into our inventory management system, ensuring pricing, classifications, subclasses, quantities and prices are accurate.
  • Develop and maintain KPI’s for vendor performance.
  • Make recommendations to Senior Manager on the overall supplier relationship based on KPI’s.
  • Own the process of replenishment of core products as directed by the Senior Manager.
  • Assist Senior Manager with developing and executing purchasing plans for special events and Major Golf Events, (such as PGA Championship, Junior Amateur, etc.)
  • Execute all special orders.
