Department OverviewThis role is part of McDonald’s Global Supply Chain organization within Global Strategic Sourcing Services (GSSS). The team partners with leaders across the business to build a resilient, innovative, and efficient global supply base that supports McDonald’s long-term growth. The position focuses on global kitchen equipment sourcing, working closely with cross-functional partners and suppliers to ensure reliable supply, strong equipment performance, and continuous improvement across global and local markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or STEM fields).
  • 3–5 years of proven experience preferred (profiles up to 7–8 years considered).
  • Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supplier relationship management, supply chain, procurement, engineering, or product development.
  • Hands-on experience with negotiations and contract management.
  • Strong project management and execution skills.
  • Ability to balance reactive problem-solving with critical thinking.
  • Strong analytical skills; able to structure and solve ambiguous problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills; ability to lead through influence.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and able to prioritize.
  • Microsoft Office Suite required; advanced Excel skills are meaningful.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in QSR, restaurant industry, kitchen equipment, manufacturing, or international environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support and independently lead assigned kitchen equipment categories and core suppliers.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of global category strategies, incorporating industry trends, business needs, and customer insights.
  • Balance reactive work (resolving equipment issues and daily support) with strategic, proactive initiatives.
  • Lead and support pricing negotiations, service agreements, warranties, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Capture, analyze, and maintain key supplier data (costs, volumes, performance metrics, service levels, and financial information).
  • Identify supplier risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Review, approve, and supervise supplier performance standards and indicators.
  • Support sourcing initiatives including supplier selection, qualification, and development.
  • Implement projects from equipment ideation and testing through commercialization and deployment.
  • Ensure stock availability and inventory planning for new product launches and special programs.
  • Collaborate across manufacturing and logistics processes.
  • Act as a liaison between internal team members, suppliers, and Owner/Operators.
  • Lead resolution of field issues, minimize recurrence, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate new product releases and changes with full cross-functional alignment.
