This role provides hands-on exposure to real-world security operations, risk management, and defensive technologies. The intern will assist in monitoring threats, analyzing security data, supporting compliance initiatives, and improving security processes across the organization. This is an opportunity to gain experience in enterprise security tools, cloud environments, and security governance practices. Requirements

  • Ability to handle sensitive information responsibly.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
  • Coursework or labs in cybersecurity.
  • Curiosity and desire to learn.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, or vulnerability scanners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Understanding of common threats such as phishing, malware, ransomware.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring security alerts and investigating potential threats.
  • Assist with third-party/vendor risk assessments.
  • Contribute to security policy and procedure updates.
  • Help review security logs and endpoint telemetry.
  • Participate in phishing simulations and security awareness initiatives.
  • Research emerging threats and provide brief summaries to the team.
  • Support documentation for compliance frameworks such as NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or CMMC.
  • Support incident response activities and post-incident documentation.
  • Support vulnerability management efforts, including scanning and remediation tracking.
