About The Position

The Sustainability Program Manager advances Treasure Coast Food Bank’s commitment to maximizing food recovery through program growth, innovation, and strategic partnerships. This role leads the Food Recovery Program, working directly with retailers, agency partners, and community stakeholders to divert surplus food efficiently and equitably to organizations serving neighbors in need. The manager strengthens retail donor relationships, ensures compliance with organizational and food safety standards, oversees reporting and data analysis, and drives measurable program growth. Through collaboration with internal departments and external partners, this position plays a critical role in reducing food waste while expanding access to nutritious food across the Treasure Coast. As Sustainability Program Manager, you will oversee and grow the Food Recovery Program by building strong partnerships with retailers, agency partners, and community organizations. You will recruit new food donors, onboard agency partners, conduct site visits, and ensure all participants are trained and compliant with Treasure Coast Food Bank, Feeding America, and applicable food safety standards. You will analyze donation data, monitor reporting accuracy, evaluate product mix trends, and implement strategies to increase recovery rates and program impact. You will collaborate across departments to strengthen donor engagement, optimize logistics, and enhance community visibility. Through strategic oversight and relationship management, you will help ensure the program meets annual growth metrics and delivers measurable impact in hunger relief and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to grow and manage partnership-based programs
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret donation and performance data
  • Confidence navigating compliance conversations related to food safety and reporting
  • Experience leading cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced environments
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational discipline with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Passion for sustainability, food recovery, and nonprofit impact
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; comparable experience in sales, marketing, program management, or retail partnership development considered.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in program coordination, partnership management, compliance, or customer service.
  • Strong proficiency in MICROSOFT Office Suite and relational database systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from conception to implementation.
  • Ability to work independently and travel locally (40-60%).
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with insurable driving record and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food security, food safety, or food service environments preferred.
  • Experience managing partnerships with community-based or faith-based organizations preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program Growth & Donor Development Identify and recruit retail donors to expand food recovery efforts.
  • Develop and execute a retail visitation and engagement strategy.
  • Establish annual program growth goals and recommend expansion strategies.
  • Lead donor recognition initiatives, including appreciation campaigns and events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners and agency organizations.
  • Data Management & Reporting Manage program databases and reporting tools to ensure accurate donation tracking.
  • Analyze product mix and donation trends to maximize recovery.
  • Compile and generate reports for internal leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records within relational database systems.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration Partner with the Transportation Manager to coordinate routing and logistics for large donations.
  • Collaborate with Operations to troubleshoot donation-related issues.
  • Work with Development and Marketing to expand cause marketing partnerships and increase brand visibility.
  • Strategize with Executive and Director-level leadership on high-impact engagement opportunities.
  • Support volunteer engagement efforts as needed during high-volume periods.
  • Represent Treasure Coast Food Bank at community events and with business stakeholders
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned in support of program operations and organizational goals.
