About The Position
Build precision that powers critical industries Join a tight-knit machining group running advanced Swiss-type turning centers to produce ultra-precise components ranging from 1/16" to 1 1/2" in diameter. You’ll work with modern equipment, exacting tolerances, and a team that values craftsmanship and continuous learning. A day in the life You begin by reviewing a customer print, confirming critical dimensions, and planning your setup. You load tools, dial in offsets, and make minor program edits to optimize cycle time. Throughout the run, you verify features with metrology instruments and an optical comparator, documenting results and making fine adjustments to keep everything in spec. By day’s end, you’ve collaborated with peers, solved a tricky tooling challenge, and shipped parts bound for telecommunications, defense, medical, and aerospace applications. Requirements
- Hands-on experience operating Swiss-style lathes
- Comfort reading and interpreting engineering blueprints
- Ability to change tools, adjust wear and geometry offsets, and perform minor program edits
- Working knowledge of tooling, workholding, and setup practices
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and optical comparators
