About The Position

The SOC Manager is responsible for developing, leading, and managing the daily operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC) while overseeing the integration and project management of physical security systems, programs, and initiatives. This role involves developing scalable, innovative security technology solutions, ensuring the seamless coordination of operational functions, and supporting operational shift coverage as needed. Key responsibilities include building SOC capabilities, leading diverse teams, data aggregation and analysis, managing critical projects, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to enhance security operations and mitigate risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of security management experience, including SOC development and physical security system integration.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and delivering security projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong background in physical security, incident response, and risk management in a corporate environment.
  • Expertise in SOC operations, including alarm monitoring, video surveillance, and access control systems.
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on planning, execution, and resource allocation.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of managing diverse teams across shifts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and security-specific software.
  • Must be available for on-call emergency response 24/7.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • May require travel to support security operations across multiple sites.
  • Physical ability to respond to security incidents and manage security equipment (up to 30 lbs).

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CPP, PSP, or PMP are highly desirable.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Security Operations Management Oversee daily operations of the SOC and physical security programs, ensuring comprehensive protection of company assets and personnel.
  • Design, implement, and monitor security policies, procedures, and protocols with a focus on scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and recommend strategic and tactical improvements to address vulnerabilities.
  • Supervise and maintain the functionality of security technologies, including access control systems, surveillance infrastructure, and alarm systems.
  • Leadership & Team Management Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing SOC team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Ensure staffing flexibility by developing robust shift schedules and cross-training staff to cover operational needs.
  • Provide hands-on leadership during critical incidents and security events, ensuring swift resolution and documentation.
  • Regularly evaluate team performance and provide feedback to encourage professional development.
  • Security Integration & Project Management Drive security integration projects, including the implementation of new technologies, upgrades to existing systems, and policy enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., IT, Facilities, and EHS) to design and implement integrated security solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring on-time delivery of security initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between security operations and other business units to align security projects with operational needs.
  • Contract Security Oversight Oversee contract security teams, ensuring compliance with company standards and seamless integration with in-house operations.
  • Conduct regular reviews of contractor performance through audits, inspections, and feedback sessions.
  • Incident Response & Investigations Direct responses to security incidents, leveraging SOC capabilities to ensure effective management and communication.
  • Lead investigations into security breaches, theft, or incidents, preparing comprehensive reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Operational Flexibility Adapt to changing operational needs by supporting shift coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Work collaboratively with operational leaders to manage emergencies and unplanned security needs effectively.
  • Compliance & Reporting Ensure all security activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Produce detailed security metrics, reports, and presentations for senior management, highlighting SOC effectiveness and operational gaps.
  • Facility & Emergency Security Management Oversee the physical security of facilities, ensuring robust perimeter controls, access management, and visitor procedures.
  • Partner with EHS and Facilities teams to create and implement emergency preparedness plans, including active shooter protocols and disaster response.
