Lockheed Martin is looking for an energetic Systems Engineer - Early Career, to join the Next Generation GEO (NGG) team in Sunnyvale, California. This position is in support of the NextGen OPIR program, responsible for testing interfaces with various USSF and Joint organizations and their supporting contractors, and will define the scope of testing necessary to demonstrate Space to Ground System Certification and prepare the vehicles for Operational Acceptance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface across multiple organizations and teams
  • Ability to absorb complex technical information and identify dependencies and gaps across system elements
  • Familiarity with problem solving for integrated systems
  • Ability to obtain a final TS/SCI security clearance

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to brief audiences of varying technical knowledge
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations

  • Experience with managing complex schedules with numerous users and constraints
  • Experience with satellite command and control systems
  • Experience with space vehicle HWIL Simulators
  • Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data
  • Ability to interact with hardware and software developers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge
  • Active Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Aid in scheduling and deconfliction of highly utilized NGG HWIL simulator
  • Develop and maintain system integration plans across the various system elements for both NGG SV1 operations and for the NGG SV2 development campaign.
  • Develop solutions to complex system challenges and present recommendations to senior leadership
  • Support Space-to-Ground compatibility testing for NGG SV2
  • Provide technical support and information to government personnel performing operations, developmental test, and assist engineering teams in troubleshooting efforts
  • Occasionally travel out of state for technical interchange meetings, design reviews and system integration activities
