About The Position

The Talent Acquisition & Engagement Manager leads recruitment efforts for a defined portfolio, ensuring the attraction and selection of mission-driven talent across a portfolio of roles. This role owns full-cycle recruiting while partnering with program leaders to translate workforce needs into effective hiring strategies and strong candidate experiences.  In addition to driving recruiting outcomes, this role activates employer brand initiatives, supports engagement efforts in partnership with People Experience, and leverages data and insights to inform decisions, improve processes, and strengthen hiring effectiveness across the organization. The Manager plays a key role in coaching hiring managers, influencing hiring practices, and contributing to continuous improvement of talent systems, processes, and outcomes. This role follows a hybrid work model, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays, and in-office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additional in-office days may be required based on team needs, meetings, or priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle, including proactive sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience in professional and strategic sourcing, including identifying and engaging passive candidates for specialized or leadership roles.
  • Experience recruiting across a mix of high-volume, front-line, and professional-level positions within multiple departments.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and sourcing tools to manage pipelines, workflows, and candidate journeys efficiently.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruitment data (e.g., time-to-fill, source effectiveness, pipeline health) and use insights to inform hiring strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Process improvement and project management mindset, with the ability to manage multiple requisitions and initiatives simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and drive recruitment projects from planning through completion.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies, streamline workflows, and enhance the overall recruitment and candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for assigned portfolio, from intake through offer and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, workforce trends, and role requirements.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality candidate experience aligned with YMCA values.
  • Manage requisitions, candidate pipelines, and hiring activity within the ATS.
  • Support workforce planning conversations by identifying hiring trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Coach and guide hiring managers on effective recruitment practices, interviewing, and selection.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency in hiring decisions, evaluation criteria, and process execution.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve time-to-fill, quality of hire, and candidate experience.
  • Influence hiring decisions by helping leaders apply consistent, equitable hiring practices.
  • Activate employer brand through storytelling, outreach, and engagement across community and recruitment channels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, workforce partners, and local talent pipelines.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to increase visibility and attract mission-aligned candidates through outreach, events, and partnerships.
  • Represent the YMCA at recruiting events, job fairs, and community engagements as a brand ambassador.
  • Partner with People Experience and marketing/communications (as applicable) to ensure consistent employer brand representation.
  • Leverage insights from community engagement and sourcing efforts to inform and strengthen talent attraction strategies.
  • Partner with People Experience and program leaders to activate engagement initiatives.
  • Support implementation of onboarding, recognition, and feedback efforts.
  • Monitor employee feedback and engagement trends and elevate insights.
  • Serve as a connector between recruitment outcomes and employee experience to ensure alignment across the talent lifecycle.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, applicant flow, source effectiveness, quality indicators) through dashboards.
  • Build and leverage dashboards to provide visibility into hiring performance, pipeline health, and workforce trends.
  • Use data insights to identify trends, inform decisions, and drive continuous improvement in recruitment strategies and outcomes.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance candidate experience and hiring effectiveness.
  • Drive optimization of recruitment systems and workflows to improve efficiency, data integrity, and reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with hiring policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
