About The Position

DEPARTMENT: Precision Parts JOB TITLE: Team Leader (Captain) REPORTS TO: Department Manager What You’ll Be Responsible For: Ensure timely processing and accuracy of machine parts per customer’s request Managing a team of machine operators Measuring parts to customer expectations Assist or perform set-ups on CNC machines Assist department engineer and facilitator in identifying potential problems and areas of improvement Manage & conduct safety training. Understanding or ability to calculate speeds and feeds Driving process adherence Maintain accurate inventories through cycle counts & inventory adjustments. Know basic shop floor programming on CNC machines, Ability to inspire others to work efficiently, defuse conflict and make good decisions. Ability to coach, develop and lead production employees. Communicating needs between various departments. Work Environment/Physical Demands/Job Requirements: Blueprint reading skills. Ability to delegate and anticipate needs of the department and employees. Work closely with design engineers, salesmen, & customer service representatives. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Strong problem solving and advanced math skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members. Ability to efficiently use a computer, including programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. Team player with leadership skills. Excellent inspection skills.
