About The Position

The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is looking to fill the position of Technical Coordinator, Volleyball to support the student-athletes on our Volleyball team. Under the direction of the Head Volleyball Coach the Technical Coordinator is primarily responsible for the analysis and scouting of competitions and practices in collaboration with the Volleyball staff and student-athletes. Design and oversee the team’s analytical framework, determining the methods, technologies, and performance indicators used to evaluate athletes, practices, and competitive outcomes. Provide expert analysis and strategic recommendations to coaching staff, using advanced statistical models and performance data to influence training plans, lineups, and match strategy. Independently determine which practice and competition elements require deeper evaluation, and develop customized reports that guide program‑level decision making. Lead the opponent scouting and analytics program, synthesizing complex data, identifying trends, and advising coaches on tactical adjustments based on independent assessment. Manage the end‑to‑end technical operations strategy, ensuring systems, data workflows, and technology selection align with long-term program goals and competitive priorities.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience; Some working knowledge of the sport program to be supported
  • Licensure: None
