Job Responsibilities: Work with the Magna Electronics product areas, as well as other teams within Magna, to create and execute plans to install prototype and productions systems in various vehicles that are used for customer demonstrations. When the systems are up and running, we take the demonstration vehicles to OEMs to promote the products and features. We also attend larger events such as CES in Las Vegas, or host demonstrations in the US, Europe and Asia, at Magna sites or test tracks. We work with all of Magna Electronic technologies, such as Radar, Camera, Thermal Imaging, and Interior Sensing Systems technologies, as well as new technologies from the Pre-development and Research teams. We are also responsible for creating live vehicle video content showcasing Magna technology that is use by our Marketing department and work closely with them for arranging Marketing events involving vehicle demonstrations. Our team members get the opportunity to gain experience in all the active safety areas and are well respected within Magna.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle networks and their signals.
  • Programming skills. (knowledge of C,C++,C#, python)
  • Knowledge of continuous integration tools (i.e GITlabs/GIThub)
  • Need to be comfortable giving speeches to customers and following key talking points.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solutions orientated attitude, with a cannot fail mentality

Nice To Haves

  • CAN, Flexray, Automotive ethernet experience
  • Prior experience with Application engineering, Customer interaction and System integration.
  • Peak and Star Gateway software development tools
  • CANoe, CANalyzer and Vector products
  • Demonstration experience
  • Good ADAS/ADS product and systems knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of in-vehicle testing, vehicle network monitoring.
  • Good knowledge in sensing (Camera, Radar, others) and actuating systems.
  • Good customer and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create the gateway software between the OEM networks and Magna technology with Star or Peak gateways to get our systems working. Gateways can be basic, relaying core signals, or complex taking full control of the vehicles drive by wire system.
  • Maintain / Flash / download ADAS software and debug systems on our demonstration vehicles.
  • Work with the product areas to integrate their technology solutions into our demonstration vehicles
  • Upgrading the software and calibrate sensors and systems.
  • Travel is required, multiple times a year for 2 weeks at a time for big events, and a week or less for various support trips. Most of the team looks forward to the 2-week trips, this is when we get to show off our team’s accomplishments to senior management, journalists, and investors.
  • Documenting and sharing knowledge company wide
  • Work with our Photographer and Videographer to create marketing videos for our products.
  • Come up with creative scenarios on how to show our sensors to customers
