Biosense Webster, Inc. is the global leader in the science of diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. The company established its leadership in electrophysiology with the development of the first real-time, 3D cardiac mapping and navigation technology, as well as the first electrophysiology catheter. The introduction of the company’s CARTO® 3 System in 2009 revolutionized 3D mapping technology by increasing the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the cardiac ablation procedure. Atrial fibrillation (AFIB), characterized by an irregular heartbeat, can lead to severe health complications including blood clots, strokes, and heart failure. Annually, around 20 million people across the globe are impacted by AFIB. As a worldwide leader in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, Johnson & Johnson Medtech's Electrophysiology division has made significant strides in the field, notably introducing the first real-time 3D cardiac mapping and navigation technology, as well as the first electrophysiology catheter. The ideal candidate will join a cross-functional project team, contributing throughout all stages of the product development process. This includes planning, managing, and executing projects from early feasibility and concept developments to initial launch, ramp up, and stabilization.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required; a specialized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline is preferred. A Master’s or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience is required. Catheter design experience in electrophysiology is highly preferred.
  • In depth technical understanding of engineering principles, design control, risk management, GD&T, Solid Works, design for manufacturing, and statistical methods.
  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain functions (e.g., Manufacturing, Planning, Supply Chain Management, Technical Service Support, New Product Introduction, LCM) within a pertinent industry is required.
  • Ability to apply statistical methods for process improvement, and validation of experimental results in the development of medical products.
  • Experience in Product and Process Development is required.
  • Flexible hours to accommodate US, EMEA and APAC work schedules.
  • This role will be based in Irvine, CA or and may require up to 25% travel

Nice To Haves

  • A proven track record of successfully launching complex, global new products is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capability to work across organizational boundaries through influence, negotiation, and collaboration is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of End-to-End supply chain characteristics is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial processes, including business case development, Profit and Loss (P&L) calculation, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), is preferred.
  • Broad technical knowledge of manufacturing techniques applicable to the product platform is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads a cross-functional team with responsibility for global new product introduction, launch, stabilization, and lifecycle management for a designated family of products. This includes the following: · Integrating technical and engineering activities with project management to ensure all aspects of product development are addressed. · Ensuring that customer requirements are incorporated into the development process.
  • Manages individual NPI/LCM projects: · Takes direct responsibility for both technical and program management leadership, guiding a cross-functional team in the development and lifecycle management of innovative electrophysiology catheters, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. · Develops strong interdependent partnerships and manages effective communication with teams in Advanced R&D, R&D, key stakeholders in Supply Chain, and partners within the Commercial organization. · Ensures that supply chain resource requirements for new product introduction projects are clearly communicated to development partners and effectively managed to achieve milestone targets and deliverables on those projects. · Challenges the status quo, promotes innovative approaches and concepts, and embeds a business focus in the team's activities.
