About The Position

The Server Operations team monitors the physical and network infrastructure behind Google’s technology and holds responsibility for keeping the servers, networks, and logistics processes in Google’s global fleet of data centers running smoothly and efficiently. Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a member of Fleet Management at Google, you will develop relationships, both internally and externally, and connect with internal customers and partner teams to develop an understanding of their business requirements and goals. In this role, you will own and optimize Google's production network material fulfillment by fostering communication, collaboration, and accountability with customers and partner teams. You will oversee the end-to-end cross-functional orchestration of networking materials including racks, fiber, priority materials, and ML skeleton equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience working in an operations environment.
  • Experience working with data analytics and reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in supply chain or large-scale operations.
  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in large-scale machine learning capacity delivery.
  • Ability to communicate with highly technical and non-technical partner teams, with effective customer service skills.
  • Passion for functioning in an ambiguous and evolving engineering operations environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day material delivery operations, ensuring adherence to Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and managing escalations.
  • Drive continuous improvements in material fulfillment processes and tooling to reduce cycle times, enhance efficiency, and reduce human toil.
  • Partner closely with teams such as DCNet, planning, manufacturing, procurement, and logistics to ensure seamless material delivery.
  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material availability, on-time delivery, and SLO adherence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for network material delivery, engaging with stakeholders to align on priorities and communicate performance.
