As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. YouTube Resource Management is responsible for planning and provisioning global fleet resources across compute, networking, and storage to provide high quality product experiences to viewers and creators, no matter the device or location, while optimally balancing YouTube’s cost objectives at scale. As a Technical Program Manager (TPgM), you will be responsible for forecasting and managing data-center and resource growth within a cost envelope by partnering with developers, Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) and Infrastructure teams so that resources are available when and where needed. You will Program manage large cross functional programs to drive transparency and insights into resource growth trends. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience working with data analytics tools and reporting platforms.
  • Experience building, automating, and developing distributed systems from ideation to deployment.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in resource management process and tools.
  • Experience in data center infrastructure resource planning and cost of resources.
  • Experience with Machine Learning infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex projects by working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage schedules, identify risks, and communicate with cross-functional partners.
  • Analyze usage trends and partner with engineers to estimate and acquire resources for feature launches while adhering to financial objectives.
  • Act as process owner for internal TPU allocations, working with executive engineering leadership to ensure our TPUs are deployed in alignment with YouTube's key priorities.
  • Triage resource-requests to fund new launches, system migrations, and infrastructure projects while maintaining appropriate supply buffers.
  • Become a subject-matter-expert and consultant on technical and financial trade-offs in data-center resource management.
  • Partner with YouTube Resource Management engineering to design and build tooling to help scale the planning process.
  • Ideate efficiency opportunities to scale resources sublinear to demand growth and efficiency opportunities/ideas to reduce growth.
