Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an approved Dialysis Technician training program.
  • Previous dialysis experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare dialysis equipment and ensure it is functioning correctly before each treatment.
  • Perform patient assessments before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
  • Monitor vital signs and patient reactions, reporting any abnormalities to the nurse or physician.
  • Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatment as prescribed
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain dialysis equipment and treatment areas.
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols strictly.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients about the dialysis process and care.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
