About The Position

The Injection Molding Technician is responsible for setting up and operation of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, adjust and maintain process parameters to ensure quality standards are met, prepare raw materials, perform core or cavity changes, troubleshoot new and modified molds, maintain daily process logs and report any issues to Supervisor. This position works under minimal supervision. Relocation Assistance Offered to the Seattle, WA area! 1st Shift - Monday through Wednesday, every other Thursday 5am to 5pm

Requirements

  • Ability to read, understand, and navigate through online assembly process documents
  • Ability to perform inventory movement transactions
  • Understanding of basic math skills – adding, subtracting and measuring
  • Ability to read drawings & blueprints
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in written format
  • Ability to use judgement to identify potential safety hazards
  • Ability to use judgment related to identifying and segregating non-conforming materials and components
  • Ability to work effectively in both a team environment and independently
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility
  • This is designated as a Safety Sensitive position
  • High School education or GED required; AA Degree preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in plastics injection molding processes
  • Proficient in the operation of injection molding machinery and auxiliary equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous forklift experience preferred
  • Experience with ERP Systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process inspection of injection molded components which includes visual inspection and/or dimensional measurement for conformance to requirements defined on drawings, Standard Inspection Plans, Visual Factory or other documents
  • Weigh count and stage transacted molded materials for storing
  • Remove scrap and trash from manufacturing areas
  • Generate production, move and scrap transactions as needed to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Clean auxiliary equipment that supports the injection mold process
  • Monitor tooling condition and notify Tooling when mold is unable to produce quality parts or when preventative maintenance is required
  • Reprocess sprues and runners into regrind to be blended back into the process per quality system requirements
  • Perform daily molding machine maintenance and molding machine repair as required
  • Perform insert changes and modification/adjustment of injection molding parameters
