About The Position

The Technology & Systems Manager serves as the senior technology lead for the College of Arts and Sciences, providing strategic oversight and operational management of technology services across the college. This role partners with college leadership, university stakeholders, and academic and administrative units to support a reliable, secure, and effective technology environment. The manager leads technology planning and support related to hardware, software, systems, and asset management for the college’s departments, centers, and institutes. This position also supervises staff responsible for technology operations and support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, or another field involving application and analytical training, and four years of IT-related experience; OR a bachelor’s degree in another field and five years of IT-related experience; OR a master’s degree and three years of IT-related experience; OR a combination of eight years of IT-related experience and validated training.
  • Preparation for a relevant IT certification may count as related training.
  • Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with departments, faculty, and college leadership to assess technology needs and coordinate hardware and software purchases, replacement cycles, upgrades, and disposal of obsolete equipment.
  • Oversee implementation of new technology solutions and ensure timely installation, replacement, and deployment across the college.
  • Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of college hardware and other technology assets, including annual inventory processes and related documentation.
  • Provide primary support for college applications and technical systems, ensuring continuity of operations, troubleshooting issues, coordinating updates, and supporting effective use of technology across the college.
  • Serve as a backup resource for the college’s web and digital systems, providing continuity for essential web operations and critical updates.
  • Support the Digital Content Strategist in the maintenance, enhancement, and ongoing improvement of the college’s web presence as needed.
  • Supervise assigned personnel, including hiring recommendations, performance management, training, work assignment, coaching, and resolution of personnel or workflow issues.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies, systems, and best practices.
  • Participate in professional development activities to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
  • Perform additional responsibilities in support of college operations and strategic priorities.
