The Role Dedicated Technician at Denver International Airport Location and Schedule This is a full time position in Denver, CO. The position is located at the Denver Airport. The schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. Additionally there will be, after hours support for emergency and non-emergency situations including on call rotation. (At a minimum, the dedicated technicians will be on site eight (8) hours a day Monday through Friday or as negotiated between CenturyLink and the City and County of Denver. Established PWCS “after hours” procedures will be followed for Emergency and non-Emergency situations) The Main Responsibilities Dedicated Technician: Full-time Dedicated Technicians perform: audits provide daily surveillance / maintenance for the Optical network, Tellabs systems, and the various power plants on the DEN campus. (These positions require experience with Fujitsu FW 4100, 1Finity L100, L110, T310, S100, Tellabs 1000, Vertiv Netsure, Oscilloquartz BitClocks) Dedicated Technician Tasks (related to circuits that utilize the Optical Network solution for transport) Report directly to DEN CenturyLink work location at designated work schedule time. Identify and maintain circuits from regulated telco points of presence for ingest and transport on the Optical Network. Perform various audit and/or maintenance duties as directed by the Optical Network Manager. Auditing circuit designs, move, add, change, disconnect, testing and or assisting in the troubleshooting of: 1. Copper cable, termination, Fiber Optic cable, termination, D/C power cable, termination associated with the Optical Network. 2. Circuit types include but are not limited to: ISDN, Analog Data- 56K, 9.6, 64K, T1, DS3, 1FB, RTNA, Brief Net, Crash Net (NETA), LADA, ELAN, Breach Alarm, HDSL, DSL, VOIP, DIA TV, DID trunks, ring down circuits and ground start trunks. 3. DEN circuit types: BANA, BCTV, CCTF, CCTP, CCFX, CCTX, CLCK, EFXS, ELAN, ELRE, ELXT, ESXT, EZXT, HCxx, LADA, NETA, OSNA, PAOR, RTNA, ADSL, SDSL, TVTK, TV06, TV11 and VOIP. 4. Peripheral equipment: DSX panels, repeater shelves, fiber bays and patch panels, +24V / -48V DC power plant components and batteries, AC inverter and fuse panels that is associated with the Optical Network. 5. Work with the Business Technologies Division and CenturyLink team to maintain operational capability of Optical Network synchronization clocks and dc power plants that are owned by the City and County of Denver (CCD). 6. Maintain Inter-building and backbone telephony cabling and cable configuration documentation in support of the Optical Network infrastructure with support from CCD, their contractors, and or CenturyLink staff. 7. Be available for on-call duty on a continuously rotating basis, response time to site is 1 ½ hours from time of notification to commencement of trouble shooting effort. Technician Tasks Daily Technician Tasks Walkthrough in 45A01, A-35C51, Lumen/CTL POI’s, Fujitsu: remote provisioning / monitoring capability, (Fujitsu NOC Monitors) Tellabs, DC Power Plants on-site technician manual checks are required. Work Activity Log (WAL) is sent at the end shift by each technician. Issues uncovered by technician(s), information is reported to DEN team via AskIT (Service Now) Weekly Technician Tasks Time reporting in Work Force Software - time reporting DC Power Plant Report is sent by techs on Friday As Required Work by Technicians DEN Audit AskIT tickets DEN AskIT tickets as needed Attend Training Lumen Corporate Training DIA Specific Training Airport Access Badging Driving on Airport property Vendor Training Fujitsu Tellabs

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or permanent U.S. residency
  • Must pass background check by TSA to be badged for DIA
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record as driving a company truck is required.
  • Must be proficient with hand tools.
  • Must have proficient computer skills.
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to work as a team with colleagues and the customer, have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expected to act with self-reliance and self-initiative.
