Intern Development Program Overview The USF Academic Services Intern Development Program offers hands-on experience in academic support for student-athletes. Interns receive mentorship, professional development, and cross-training across all academic services roles while working with diverse student-athletes at varying academic levels. The program builds professional networks and prepares interns for full-time careers in the field. Available Positions Two tracks are offered. Applicants are considered for both during the application process but will have the option to indicate a preference. Responsibilities Assistant Academic Coordinator (Multiple Positions) Develops, manages, and executes academic success plans for student-athletes. Responsibilities include: Academic advising and graduation planning support Monitoring and reviewing student-athlete weekly academic progress Collaborating with Academic Services staff on strategic academic support Providing structure, support, and motivation to student-athletes Participate in foundational monitoring of Academic Eligibility metrics, including Progress Towards Degree Assistant Learning Specialist (Multiple Positions) Works with assigned caseload to develop academic skills and maintain individualized learning plans. Responsibilities include: Setting and tracking academic goals and weekly objectives Monitoring and documenting weekly caseload progress Collaborating with the Tutor and Mentor Coordinators to manage requests, trainings, and sessions Completing end-of-term assessments Assisting with the Assessment Program and Student Accessibility Services coordination
