PARKS, RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT RECREATION DIVISION Temporary Parks Program Assistant Hourly Rate: $18.25 - $19.25 per hour Hours: Flexible hours & days Monday-Saturday, shift hours between 2:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. (some mornings) Location: Kent Commons Community Center 525 4th Ave N, Kent, WA 98032 There are two (2) positions available. They are open until filled. DUTIES: Work related to a recreation community center which includes professional telephone technique & etiquette, customer service, operating a cash register, providing program registration (computer/phone/walk-in/mail in), assist in supervision of the facility, provide customer information, assist facility users, clerical support, and perform related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Experience in customer service, communication skills, cash handling, professional phone skills, and recreation and/or public relations experience. Or: In place of the above requirement, the incumbent may possess any combination of relevant education and experience which would demonstrate the individual's knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Applicants are subject to a Washington State background inquiry. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a typical office environment. May be exposed to customers, contractors, and vendors/suppliers who may possibly be irate or hostile.
