About The Position

McKenney’s is seeking a dependable and motivated individual to join our team as a Tool Room Associate I. This is an entry-level position focused on supporting day-to-day tool room operations, including inventory management, tool issuance and return, and basic tool maintenance. You will gain valuable experience working on a rapidly growing construction logistics team with opportunities for cross-training and advancement. This position is part of a clearly defined career progression within our Tool Room operations team. High-performing team members have the opportunity to advance from Tool Room Associate I to Tool Room Associate II to Tool Room Coordinator, with increasing levels of responsibility, ownership, and influence over operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic computer and mobile device skills
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate a forklift (training provided)
• Reliable, organized, and willing to learn

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in construction, logistics, or tool management
• General familiarity with common construction tools, their names, and functions
• Exposure to construction or warehouse environments

Responsibilities

• Utilize proprietary web-based software to check tools in and out of construction jobs using a handheld scanner and/or PC
• Monitor tool and consumable levels to ensure availability for job needs
• Clean and inspect returned tools and sort them into designated storage locations
• Identify and replace damaged barcodes
• Barcode new tools and input relevant details for system entry
• Assist with quarterly inventory of tool room assets
• Load and unload tools onto trucks and trailers as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S principles
• Submit weekly time tickets for approval
