What You'll Do: Join the Panasonic North American Trade Team for a hands-on internship focused on the complexities of global trade and customs compliance. You will support our mission to ensure all imported and exported goods meet stringent regulatory standards. This role is ideal for a student interested in supply chain, international law, or global business who wants to see how a multinational tech giant navigates the evolving landscape of international trade Support the launch of our Trade Compliance COE by assisting the Trade Compliance team in several critical areas:

Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree throughout the entirety of the internship.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or Pre-Law.
  • You enjoy digging into the 'fine print' and have a high attention to detail.
  • Applied knowledge of AI and Agentic environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • A genuine interest in how global politics and regulations affect the movement of physical goods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Well developed ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work closely with data source owners, report authors, and other stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain and audit Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes to ensure accurate duty payments.
  • Assist in soliciting and reviewing Certificates of Origin to qualify products for duty-free treatment under the USMCA and other regional agreements.
  • Conduct research on shifting trade policies, including Section 301 tariffs and anti-dumping/countervailing duties (AD/CVD).
  • Support the due diligence process for the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) by reviewing supplier documentation and supply chain mapping.
  • Clean and analyze import/export data to identify potential compliance gaps or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and maintain databases to ensure Trade data integrity, security, and availability.
  • Create and implement intake templates to streamline data collection processes and automate data collection.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reporting tools to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Perform data analysis and design system to generate reports to support decision-making processes across various organizations.
  • Design with an understanding of requirement to simplify maintenance and expansion of templates, dashboards, reporting.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database and reporting issues in a timely manner.
  • Support rollout of solutions to ensure 1) understanding and execution of inputs required 2) transfer of knowledge around maintenance of database contents, templates, dashboards and reports. 3) deliver SOPs documenting the aforementioned
