Position Summary The Transportation General Foreperson will oversee the operations related to the loading and unloading of buses, as well as manage the efficiency and safety of parking lot activities. This role is essential in directing lot attendants, ensuring smooth traffic flow within the parking area, and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years industrial construction, maintenance, or Transportation/logistics Industry (CDL a Plus) experience
  • Strong understanding of traffic flow management and safety protocols
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • NCCER Certified Plus (Preferred)
  • Supervisory experience (Preferred)
  • OSHA 30 preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of lot attendants responsible for directing traffic and managing parking logistics.
  • Develop work schedules for staff and allocate resources efficiently to meet operational needs.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members to enhance performance and safety awareness.
  • Oversee the loading and unloading processes of buses to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
  • Coordinate with drivers and personnel to manage schedules and handle any unforeseen delays or issues promptly.
  • Monitor traffic flow in the parking lot to ensure efficient use of space and prevent congestion.
  • Implement traffic control measures and establish protocols to enhance safety for vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local regulations and organizational standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of loading/unloading areas and parking facilities to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for communication between bus drivers, lot attendants, and upper management regarding operational issues
  • Report any operational challenges and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of bus arrivals, departures, and parking lot occupancy.
  • Prepare reports on daily operations, incidents, and staff performance.
