Our Tanker and Trailer Division in New Brighton is one of the leading trailer repair facilities in the Midwest. Universal Truck Service is now expanding to a new 2nd shift - and we are looking for experienced Trailer Technicians who want to be part of something growing. Universal Truck Service was founded on the belief that great service and quality are not a thing of the past. A Day in the Life As a 2nd Shift Trailer Technician at Universal Truck Service, you will clock in at 1pm and work a 4/10 schedule Monday through Thursday. Your shift covers the full range of trailer maintenance and repair - from brake and suspension systems to electrical, body and roof work, and safety inspections. The 2nd shift at Universal Truck Service is a team that holds itself to a high standard and takes pride in keeping fleets moving safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of trailer mechanic or technician experience
  • Valid driver's license (Class C)
  • Own hand tools and toolbox
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, fleet management systems, and email
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs; comfortable with frequent bending, kneeling, and crawling

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on trailers, dollies, and switchers
  • Service anti-lock brakes, wheel end components, electric brakes, disc brakes, and ABS systems
  • Repair swing doors, roll-up doors, and lift gates
  • Perform body, roof, frame, and flooring repairs or replacements
  • Service air ride and spring suspensions, pneumatic systems, and electrical wiring
  • Conduct safety inspections and prepare required safety documentation
  • Prepare and maintain vehicle records both manually and in fleet management systems
