About The Position

The Transportation Administrator supports the daily operations of Ashley’s Final Mile delivery network by ensuring accurate scheduling, compliance, and documentation for all transportation activities. This role acts as a key liaison between drivers, dispatch, and management to maintain service excellence and operational efficiency. Key duties:  Route & Schedule Coordination: Assist with planning and assigning delivery routes to ensure timely service.  Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate DOT records, driver logs, and vehicle inspection reports.  Communication Hub: Act as the main contact for drivers and dispatch, resolving delivery issues promptly.  Reporting: Generate and distribute transportation performance and cost reports.  Administrative Tasks: Manage billing paperwork, fuel card tracking, and other operational documentation.  Safety Support: Help implement safety programs and monitor adherence to FMCSA and company standards. Primary Job Functions This section describes the primary /essential responsibilities that this job performs.  Route Planning & Scheduling Coordinate daily delivery routes and driver assignments. Example: Adjust routes when a driver calls in sick or when a high-priority customer delivery needs to be expedited.  Compliance Management Maintain DOT and FMCSA documentation, including driver logs and vehicle inspection reports. Example: Ensure all pre-trip and post-trip inspections are uploaded and filed before routes start.  Operational Support Assist dispatch and drivers with real-time updates and issue resolution. Example: Communicate with drivers when traffic delays occur and reroute them to maintain on-time delivery.  Data & Reporting Prepare transportation performance reports and monitor cost efficiency. Example: Generate weekly reports on delivery success rates, fuel usage, and overtime hours for management review.  Administrative Tasks Handle billing paperwork, fuel card management, and other operational documentation. Example: Verify fuel card transactions against mileage logs and submit accurate billing to accounting.  Safety Program Assistance Support implementation of safety initiatives and monitor adherence to company standards. Example: Schedule monthly safety stand-ups and track driver participation in compliance training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • 1 years experience in delivery, distribution, logistics, and/or facility management with warehousing.
  • 1+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills using data and reporting.
  • Microsoft, Power BI, WMS experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized, and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience.
  • Ability to lead team in company driven processes and procedures.
  • Experience coaching for improvement
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary.
