The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) oversees critical projects and technological initiatives within the NYPD. They maintain and enhance the department's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and workstations. Notably, ITSD has rolled out various advancements, such as equipping officers with cellular phones applications and digitizing department forms to improve efficiency. ITSD is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of IT Project Specialist to act in the role of Unified Communications Engineer who will perform the following duties: esign, installation and support of conference room AV systems including displays, microphones, speakers, control systems, and video conferencing platforms; coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure AV systems meet operational and security requirements; provide technical support for executive-level meetings and high-visibility events. 2. Manage end-to-end IT projects, including gathering requirements, planning, scheduling, implementation and post-deployment support; coordinate with NYPD Bureau, city agencies and external vendors to ensure timely and successful project delivery; prepare project documentation, status reports, and technical diagrams; ensure all solutions comply with NYPD security, operational and technology standards. 3. Provide hands-on support for network components related to VOIP and AV systems including VLANs, QoS, routing and switching; collaborate with network engineering teams to troubleshoot connectivity and performances issues; assist in the deployment of network hardware in support of US and AV initiatives. 4. Design, configure and support Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) clusters, gateways, SIP trunks and call routing. 5. Manage and troubleshoot Cisco VOIP deployments, including phones, soft clients, voicemail and call center components. 6. Oversee upgrades, patches and lifecycle management for all UC platforms. 7. Monitor system performance and proactively address capacity, latency and quality-of-service issues. 8. Develop and maintain dial plans, call flows and system documentation.
