About The Position

The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope-Texarkana (UACCHT) is a proud member of the University of Arkansas System. The University of Arkansas System is comprised of land-grant research institutions, a teaching hospital, five community colleges, two schools of law, a presidential school, a residential math and science high school, and an online university, as well as divisions of agriculture, archaeology and criminal justice. These entities exhibit unmatched economic and social impact across the state by providing numerous academic and professional opportunities. The TRiO UB Instructors will develop curriculum that will enhance the participants’ overall academic development in various subjects like science, math, study skills, reading/English. This position lasts six weeks during the summer with possible opportunities to instruct in the following academic year during Saturday Academies. The candidates will report to the TRiO Upward Bound Curriculum Coordinator. (This position are grant funded.)

Requirements

  • a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required
  • a minimum of one year of experience in teaching with direct work experience with disadvantaged and diverse student populations
  • experience in planning and executing academic programs
  • strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements classroom education for participants
  • Designs and implements career awareness, exploration and interesting activities that are specific to the academic year and/or the summer sessions
