In 2024, we were selected by Apple as one of three global finalists for the iPhone app of the year, reflecting the innovation and impact of what we’ve built & in 2025 we were acquired by Strava ! Our ambition is huge: to become the go-to global leading training platform for millions of runners everywhere. With the recent acquisition by Strava accelerating our journey, now is a really magical time to join 🚀 Runna's Ambassador program is one of our most powerful growth channels and we're looking for a commercially sharp, people-first leader to own and scale it. In this role, you'll manage a high-performing team across the US and UK, drive meaningful revenue through ambassador partnerships, and help shape what an industry-leading program looks like as we expand aggressively in the US and beyond. You'll be joining at a pivotal moment, the program has strong foundations and real momentum, and there's a significant runway to make your mark. You'll report to the Head of Ambassadors, based in London. We follow a flexible hybrid model that translates to more than half of your time on-site – 3 days per week in Runna's office based in New York, NY.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in ambassador, creator, athlete partnerships, or sports marketing, ideally within a fitness, wellness, or adjacent fitness brand
  • Proven commercial leadership, you've led a team against a revenue target and have a track record of hitting it
  • Deep understanding of the full creator/ambassador cycle, from sourcing and pitching to ongoing relationship management, and the nuance required when adapting commercial playbooks to creator partnerships
  • Strong people leadership with the ability to mentor, develop, and performance-manage a team while maintaining high standards
  • Sharp judgment, you can guide the team on ambassador fit, balancing volume and scale with brand alignment, and know when to step in and when to let the team run
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity, you understand what it means to work in a fast-moving scale-up, can identify what's missing, and build solutions proactively
  • Passion for running, fitness, and the running creator industry, you're motivated to build something industry-leading and excited about what Runna is building

Nice To Haves

  • Experience previously building or scaling an ambassador or creator program from the ground up is preferred
  • Experience expanding a partnerships program into new markets, particularly the US
  • Low ego and a genuine willingness to get in the weeds, you're as comfortable executing as you are leading and strategizing

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the Ambassador program strategy in alignment with Runna's global growth ambitions, with a strong focus on the US market
  • Drive the full pipeline, sourcing, pitching, pricing, and winning new ambassadors that meet both commercial and brand standards
  • Drive the full relationship management process including onboarding, managing, renewing and offboarding ambassadors.
  • Lead team meetings, set weekly, monthly, and quarterly priorities, and hold the team accountable to targets
  • Serve as the point of escalation for negotiations and relationship management challenges, approving commercial proposals and guiding the team through complex situations
  • Manage and mentor a growing team across the US and UK, owning their development and setting a high bar for delivery, reporting, and ambassador experience
  • Partner with global leadership to integrate learnings, develop channel strategy, and ensure a consistent, impactful approach across the program
  • Identify and build process improvements and team infrastructure where needed, this is a scale-up environment and you'll be expected to create structure, not wait for it
  • Act as a hiring manager as the team continues to grow
  • Be accountable for team revenue and CAC targets
