About The Position

You will be the Utilities & Mechanical Systems Engineer - Level 3 for the Utility Systems – Vehicle Systems team which is responsible for designing, improving, and sustaining utility and fluid systems on AMMM aircraft such as the C‑130 and C‑5. As the Utilities & Mechanical Systems Engineer - Level 3 you will be responsible for delivering high‑impact mechanical and fluid‑system solutions that keep our transport aircraft mission‑ready.

Requirements

  • MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
  • The selected candidate must be able to obtain an active Secret clearance with investigation within 5 years.
  • This position is in Marietta, GA
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering), or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Experience with one or more aircraft Utility and Mechanical Systems (Flight Controls, Landing Gear, Hydraulics, Fuel, APU, Equipment & Furnishings, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preparing Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs), Development Specifications, and Source/Specification Control Drawings.
  • Experience with Mechanical or Structural design, including model and drawing definition, using Catia V5 or similar software.
  • Experience with aircraft system root-cause corrective action (RCCA) activity.
  • Experience with vendor management and providing technical oversight of supplier components.
  • Experience with large transport aircraft Mechanical or Fluid Systems.
  • Experience providing Engineering customer interface, meeting support, technical discussions with USG personnel.
  • Control Account Manager (CAM)/Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and refine mechanical and fluid utility systems for C‑130 and C‑5 platforms.
  • Provide troubleshooting, production support, and sustainment solutions for flight controls, landing gear, fuel, hydraulic, and related subsystems.
  • Generate and update engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct lab testing, investigate non‑conformances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, prepare statements of work, and lead supplier‑qualification efforts.
