As UX/UI Design Manager, you will champion the UX/UI design strategy and execution, leading a high-performance team overseeing DTNA’s diverse portfolio of brands, including Freightliner, Western Star, and related subsidiaries. We Take Care of Our Team Position offers a starting salary range of $149,000 - $190,000 USD Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. What You Drive Establish and lead a cohesive UX/UI Design vision and philosophy across Daimler Truck North America brands, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, customer expectations, and long-term business objectives Provide strategic and operational leadership for all UX/UI Design activities across assigned and strategic vehicle programs Direct UX/UI Design development from early concepts through production, ensuring consistency, quality, and design excellence throughout the product lifecycle Review, guide, and approve UX/UI Design deliverables from early design visions and interaction concepts to prototypes, design systems, and production-ready UI assets Own and manage design timelines, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with vehicle development, engineering, and program schedules Ensure design intent and quality are maintained through engineering feasibility, validation, and implementation phases Collaborate closely with engineering, product strategy, and cross-functional design teams to deliver intuitive, scalable, and customer focused digital experiences Clearly articulate design strategy, concepts, and progress to senior leadership and cross functional stakeholders Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing UX/UI Design Team, fostering professional growth, accountability, and design excellence Uphold and continuously evolve brand identity, UX/UI design language, and quality standards across all programs Coordinate and manage collaboration with external partners, suppliers, and design consultants as needed Knowledge You Should Bring Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interface Design, Product Design, Visual Design, or a closely related discipline 8+ years of professional experience designing complex digital interfaces for automotive OEMs and mobile platforms A strong portfolio demonstrating UX/UI design expertise, structured design methodology, and problem‑solving capability Proven track record of delivering successful digital products that drive meaningful user and business outcomes Demonstrated ability to balance high‑level design strategy with detailed execution while maintaining a high standard of craft Proficiency in industry‑standard design tools, including Figma and Adobe Creative Suite Strong ability to collaborate, influence, and align with cross‑functional partners to solve complex design challenges Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership and navigating complex stakeholder discussions Exceptional Candidates Might Have Prior experience leading UX/UI or creative design teams within the automotive industry Where We Work This position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s)- Portland TEC (Corp 1) - DTNA. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Schedule Type: Hybrid (4 days per week in-office / 1 day remote). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interface Design, Product Design, Visual Design, or a closely related discipline
