Location : Westchester, IL Workplace type : Hybrid The Vice President, Global Procurement will be responsible for the holistic management of Ingredion’s global spend for Chemicals, Packaging, CAPEX and Indirect which includes IT and Energy with an estimated spend of ~$1.3B while also serving as key member of the Global Procurement Leadership Team, (GPLT and a seating on the Global Capital Council. As one of the most senior roles within Global Procurement, the role will have responsibilities to advance our transformation plan to increase savings, reduce risk of supply and drive innovation coming from our suppliers. In partnership with all P&L leaders and functional leaders, will advance agenda of stewardship, compliance, and sustainability. Core responsibilities will include spearheading the transformation of Procurement function in partnership with company executives, lead and develop a team of professionals, do comprehensive review of the global spend, guide the team on the development of a three-to-five-year category strategies, and deliver results via flawless execution of sourcing projects to reduce cost, protect operating supply, and improve service and quality levels. This highly visible role will require a candidate with the ability to work closely with regional business leaders and global functional leaders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, finance, or operations leadership
  • Proven experience leading global teams as well as sourcing and/or commercial activities with a track record of driving change, innovation, and cost reduction in cross-cultural environments
  • Proven experience driving procurement strategies spanning Agribusiness, Chemicals, Packaging, CAPEX and Indirect categories
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply management, engineering, life science, or other related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously with results consistent with executive leadership expectations
  • Excellent analytical and financial acumen including cost modeling, budgeting, and forecasting

Responsibilities

  • Represent Operations and Procurement function externally and internally.
  • Partner with BU Leaders and P&L owners, in the delivery of company results.
  • Enable top line growth via robust sourcing strategies and innovation coming from suppliers.
  • Lead and coach a global team including a Senior Director and Category Managers.
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the company’s Indirect spend.
  • Drive implementation of best practices.
  • Assess the complete market for relevant goods and services including trends, forecasts, risks, geopolitical effects, and supplier profiling
  • Define a fully comprehensive category strategy for indirect goods and services
  • Translate global procurement strategy into detailed category plans with a set of measurable global, regional, and local targets
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and avoidance that are attributable to the P&L.
  • Execute on target opportunities by conducting strategic sourcing projects and supplier selection related activities using best practices.
  • Lead the negotiation and development of key contracts through the effective partnering with the supplier, Legal, and the business stakeholder
  • Manage key strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and service.
  • Conduct timely reviews with suppliers to measure performance against contractual standards and performance expectations
  • Develop risk management strategies relating to potential supply disruptions including alternative sourcing options and product/service availability
  • Lead a supplier enablement strategy to maximize spend transacted through SAP Ariba/Keelvar Buying and Supply-Chain Collaboration
  • Identify procurement processes and policies for alignment at the country, region, and global levels
  • Serve as a mentor to employees outside your direct line of report.
