About The Position

IFS InfraSource is seeking an accomplished Vice President of Estimating with deep expertise in the utility and pipeline construction industry. This executive leader will oversee the strategic direction, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of the company’s estimating and preconstruction functions across all regions. The VP of Estimating ensures accurate, competitive, and timely project estimates that support sustainable growth, strong customer partnerships, and InfraSource’s commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive estimating experience within the utility, pipeline, or energy construction industry; At least 3-5 years in a management or leadership capacity is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of B2W Estimating Software and other industry-standard software such as HCSS
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent industry credentials
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive ‑ level presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to assess risk, manage financial performance, and drive strategic initiatives
  • Excellent organizational and decision ‑ making abilities
  • Ability to travel regularly to regional offices, project sites, and customer locations

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight of all estimating activities for underground steel and polyethylene natural gas transmission and distribution projects
  • Develop and execute long ‑ range strategies that drive estimating accuracy, market competitiveness, and scalable best practices across the organization
  • Establish performance standards, policies, tools, and processes to elevate estimating efficiency and consistency across business units
  • Guide pricing strategy, risk assessment, and bid governance to align with company margin expectations and growth objectives
  • Direct complex or high‑value pursuits, including bid strategy, resource allocation, and cross‑functional coordination
  • Anticipate construction challenges and lead development of mitigation strategies that reduce financial exposure and enhance project success
  • Partner with regional leadership on customer engagement, new market opportunities, and relationship management
  • Cultivate and expand relationships with existing and potential customers, subcontractors, and industry partners
  • Support pursuit of new work by advancing win strategies, reviewing proposal narratives, and participating in customer briefings
  • Oversee estimating-related financial performance, including revenue forecasting, cost control strategies, and margin management
  • Ensure strong alignment between estimating, operations, finance, and business development
  • Provide strategic guidance on change orders, claims, and dispute resolution in collaboration with project and field leaders
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing estimating team capable of supporting business growth
  • Develop talent through coaching, training, succession planning, and performance management
