About The Position

MarketPro is conducting a retained search for a highly strategic, entrepreneurial Vice President of Marketing to build and lead the marketing function for a rapidly scaling B2B business services organization. This executive will architect the go-to-market strategy, establish a modern demand engine, and position the company for accelerated enterprise growth. Operating within a recurring-revenue model and supported by significant infrastructure investments, the organization is entering a pivotal expansion phase. The Vice President of Marketing will inherit a true blank canvas — tasked with defining strategy, building the function, and driving measurable commercial impact. This role is ideal for a builder who thrives in high-growth environments and is energized by the opportunity to modernize a legacy category through education-led marketing, data-driven decision making, and disciplined execution.

Requirements

  • 12–15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience with ownership of growth strategy and revenue outcomes.
  • Proven success building or transforming marketing functions within high-growth, entrepreneurial, or lower-middle-market organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in B2B business services marketing, including enterprise demand generation and complex buying cycles.
  • Strong command of digital strategy, CRM, marketing automation, and funnel analytics.
  • Experience operating as a hands-on leader with the ability to scale from strategy into execution when required.
  • Track record of aligning marketing investment with measurable business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the enterprise marketing vision, operating model, and strategic roadmap aligned with aggressive growth objectives.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and executive leadership to translate business priorities into a scalable, revenue-generating marketing strategy.
  • Serve as the organization’s senior marketing voice, advising leadership on market dynamics, customer behavior, and investment effectiveness.
  • Establish the marketing department from inception, including structure, processes, technology, and performance metrics.
  • Operate as a player-coach — setting strategy while remaining hands-on during the early stages of team development.
  • Recruit, develop, and scale a high-performing marketing organization aligned with company growth.
  • Design and implement a predictable, data-driven demand engine targeting enterprise and multi-site organizations.
  • Optimize the full funnel from awareness through conversion with clear attribution and ROI measurement.
  • Identify high-value customer segments and develop strategies to penetrate complex buying groups with extended sales cycles.
  • Refine the brand narrative to resonate with senior decision-makers and elevate the organization from vendor to strategic partner.
  • Lead the development of high-impact educational content that reshapes market perception and builds credibility.
  • Balance performance marketing with long-term brand equity creation.
  • Champion a metrics-driven culture, embedding analytics into forecasting, planning, and execution.
  • Evaluate and optimize the marketing technology stack to support scalable growth.
  • Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that drive accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with sales leadership to strengthen pipeline quality, improve conversion rates, and enhance revenue predictability.
  • Build and oversee outbound capabilities, including SDR programs and targeted account engagement strategies.
  • Ensure tight alignment between marketing investment and business outcomes.
  • Introduce modern marketing practices, test-and-learn experimentation, and disciplined performance management.
  • Anticipate shifts in buyer expectations, digital engagement, and competitive positioning within the B2B services landscape.
  • Foster a culture grounded in agility, creativity, and measurable impact.
