Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in training leadership, workforce development, or organizational capacity-building roles preferably within human services (IDD a plus) or nonprofit environments.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory training requirements and compliance environments.
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining connected to day-to-day service realities.
  • Comfortable leading through growth, change, and system development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively through organizational growth and change with empathy, clarity, and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) technologies; online training development is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the vision, design, and execution of organization-wide training and staff development initiatives that support service excellence.
  • Design and oversee comprehensive training pathways for all roles—from Direct Support Professionals to leadership—ensuring consistency, quality, and mission alignment across all locations.
  • Ensure all training programs consistently meet or exceed applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements (DMH, Division of DD, HIPAA, CARF, DOL, VR) while reinforcing person-centered values.
  • Partner with Compliance and Operations to support audit readiness, continuous improvement, and ongoing regulatory alignment.
  • Develop tools to evaluate training effectiveness, staff competency, and real-world application in service settings.
  • Lead, mentor, and support Field Trainers and Training Specialists; serve as Chair of the Training Committee.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance training systems, materials, and technologies to strengthen workforce stability and quality of care.
