About The Position

The VP, Advertising & Partnerships – Small & Medium Business Growth (SMBG) will play a critical role within our fast-paced advertising sales team, driving new and incremental revenue across NBCUniversal’s full One Platform portfolio. Reporting directly to the SVP, Advertising & Partnerships – SMB Growth Team, this leader will oversee a team responsible for cultivating demand and managing relationships across external clients and independent media agencies. This role will also leverage programmatic and consultative selling expertise to enhance automation data-driven buying and innovation across SMB strategies. The goal of the team is to drive new demand for the NBCU portfolio with a focus on emerging small and medium sized businesses. This role requires building relationships with key internal stakeholders and collaborative partners across the NBCU organization. Expertise in streaming, consultative selling, video landscape, performance marketing, programmatic, and local/ regional media are critical to achieving success in this role.

Requirements

  • 10+ years advertising sales and/or agency planning/strategy
  • 5+ years Small & Medium Business direct selling experience using automated platforms for prospecting, reaching and delivering new advertisers primarily through digital video streaming activation channels.
  • Programmatic and consultative selling experience with demonstrated success driving adoption of automated and data-driven media solutions
  • Demonstrated sales performance, leadership ability and track record of revenue growth
  • Proven experience driving innovation and leading change to foster growth
  • Strong understanding of performance ecosystem, DSP/SSP technologies, automation and audience buying strategies, marketing, measurement, and attribution metrics
  • Familiarity and experience with Salesforce is required

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing sales team to drive new and incremental advertising revenue for NBCU’s One Platform offering
  • Oversee day-to-day sales management, sales strategy, revenue forecasting, business development, prospecting, and client/agency outreach
  • Actively guide the team through programmatic-forward, consultative sales cycles, including needs assessments, solution design and negotiation to achieve revenue and pricing targets.
  • Integrate programmatic solutions into SMB clients, helping them understand and adopt data-driven, programmatically enabled media opportunities
  • Champion innovation in streaming, performance marketing, and data-driven buying to unlock new SMB partnerships
  • Build strong relationships with internal NBCU stakeholders including Local Sales, SME Teams, Sales Pricing & Planning, Sales Marketing, and Sales Operations
