Institutional Securities Group Product Operations Institutional Securities Group Product Operations (ISGPO) partners closely with Sales & Trading and our Clients to process daily activities, develop and implement new products and services, as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in our processes. Fixed Income Operations Fixed Income Operations is a key partner to the Firm's institutional Fixed Income Sales & Trading businesses globally, performing trade & post trade support, Financing and Client service functions. The department plays a meaningful role in trade verification, settlement, new product approval, reconciliation of the Firm's books & records and supporting regulatory obligations, offering varied and interesting career opportunities for a talented individual. This position plays a vital role within Morgan Stanley corporate and commercial lending operations. The Vice President role will manage a team that will oversee the day-to-day operations of Morgan Stanley participation positions specific to Corporate and Commercial Loans conducted across multiple trading desks. The Vice President will possess strong written and communication skills to effectively communicate with upper management from the Business Unit (BU), Financial Controllers (FCG), Global Capital Markets (GCM), Leveraged Acquisition Finance (LAF), Lending Joint Venture (LJV), Securitized Products Group (SPG). and other internal teams. The Global Loan Servicing Team (GLS) provides operational support for various loan products including Corporate Loan origination, Leveraged Loan Trading, Secured Lending, and Commercial Real Estate Financing. GLS supports the Global Capital Markets (GCM), Investment Banking Division (IBD), Fixed Income (FID) and Institutional Equity Division (IED) Business units. The Vice President role supporting EMEA and North America Global Loan Service operations teams and performing , but not limited, to Cash Reconciliation, Settlements & Servicing Functions , loan Documentation, Quality Control, Utilities, across the EMEA and North America Shifts. As an Operational unit, GLS is divided across geographies and amongst numerous teams that are responsible for the following functions: Corporate Loans: Responsibilities consist of origination and syndication of primary loan facilities, servicing of agency and non-agency deals, and facilitation of secondary loan trading. The team is also responsible for supporting transactions for other loan products such as Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs) and Letters of Credit (LCs). Secured Lending: Responsibilities include providing front to back operational support to the Securitized Products Group (SPG). Products include Warehouse lending, Residential and Commercial mortgages, consumer loans, and capital commitments. Quality Control team performs quality control checks on Primary origination, secondary and warehouse loans. Data Governance reviews data quality and works on implementing new solutions to improve the Loan data and also oversees the regulatory reporting activities for Loans

Requirements

  • 5+ years of financial services operations experience required
  • 5+ years of people, process, and/or project management experience required
  • Must be proficient in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Must be proficient in documenting procedures and process flows
  • Must be willing to work overtime during seasonal volume spikes
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload for junior staff
  • Ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of syndicated/corporate loan experience strongly preferred
  • Loan IQ experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with syndicated loan products and credit documentation preferred
  • Ability to obtain Series 99 licensing

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily lifecycle servicing transactions within a dynamic portfolio of lending and trading positions supported by domestic and international based resources.
  • Ensure that loan servicing transactions are processed accurately in Loan IQ.
  • Review of legal documentation where applicable (Credit Agreements, Amendments and Waivers)
  • Work with the Business Unit (BU), Financial Controllers (FCG), Global Capital Markets (GCM), Leveraged Acquisition Finance (LAF), Lending Joint Venture (LJV), and other internal teams on issues with P&L; etc.
  • Responsible for analyzing data, recognizing trends, formalizing conclusions, and presenting synthesized data to management.
  • Maintain desktop and supervisory procedures governing the team's processes.
  • Maintain the team's risk control framework, including the recurring documentation of key risks and controls and execution of risk control self-assessments.
  • Manage special projects, including the coordination and documentation of business requirements, test scripts, and implementation plans.
  • Represent the team on weekly and monthly risk calls in which key performance and risk indicators will need to be articulated to senior Operations officers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to a staff of Analysts, Associates, and other Directors/AVPs.
  • Provide supervisory oversight of an external vendor, including the monitoring of service level agreements, utilization rates, and breaches in key risk indicators.
  • Provide supervisory oversight as it relates to the generation and submission of regulatory reports.
  • Provide recurring and ad-hoc support to Primary Origination and Secondary Trading desks.
  • Represent the team during internal and external audits, including the coordination and articulation of evidence provided by the team.
