About The Position

At Job Duck, we are seeking a proactive and people-focused Virtual Family Law Assistant who will play a central role in supporting daily legal operations and client communication. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience working as a legal assistant required
  • Strong skills in handling and drafting legal documents (depositions, affidavits, motions, letters, etc) required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
  • Confident and professional phone presence
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational habits
  • Personable and approachable communication style
  • Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities
  • Comfortable interacting with clients and potential clients
  • Proactive and dependable work ethic
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Location and timezone: Remote, Eastern Standard Time (EST)
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday
  • Expected call volume: Moderate (6-15 calls per day)
  • Software and Tools Required: Familiarity with legal CRMs like FileVine, Lawmatics, MyCase, as well as VOIP like Vodacall or RingCentral is ideal

Responsibilities

  • Draft and handle complex legal documents including affidavits, letters, depositions, motions, and related filings
  • Maintain organized digital files and legal records
  • Support attorneys with ongoing case preparation and administrative tasks
  • Support overall legal workflow and daily operations
  • Track deadlines and assist in ensuring timely follow up
  • Manage calendars, appointments, and scheduling
  • Collect, review, and organize client documents
  • Communicate with existing clients regarding case-related needs
  • Direct calls from potential clients appropriately
  • Prepare legal correspondence and case-related documentation with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Answer and manage incoming phone calls
